Fully Funded UK Bachelor's Scholarships? The Real Figures

No UK scholarship in our data fully funds a bachelor's degree. See the real amounts, eligibility and payment-linked discounts before you apply.

The direct answer

No scholarship in this guide covers full tuition plus living costs for a bachelor's degree in the UK. The largest confirmed undergraduate awards are partial tuition reductions — Ulster's Global Excellence Scholarship (£5,000 for UG) and Huddersfield London's top merit band (£4,000 per year, for AAB-equivalent grades) are the biggest specific figures in the data. Everything else is a smaller discount, often tied to paying early rather than to grades.

If a website or agent tells you a UK bachelor's degree is "fully funded" for Nepali students, ask to see the official page. None of the sources below make that claim.

UK bachelor's scholarships, institution by institution

Institution Scholarship Amount Who it's for
Ulster Global Excellence Scholarship £5,000 (UG) A-Level BBB or equivalent; not for a placement year
Ulster Standard Country Scholarship £4,000 (UG) Meets the programme's entry requirements
UCB Early Action Scholarship £4,500 or £3,500, depending on course Meets all deposit deadlines
Hud London Merit-based scholarship, top band £4,000 per year of the course AAB UK A-level equivalent
Hud London Merit-based scholarship, general band £2,000 Meets general entry requirements
Hud London Early Payment Discount £500 CAS deposit paid by 31 May 2026, September 2026 intake
UWL International Ambassador Scholarship £1,000 towards first-year tuition Up to 100 awarded each year, first-year students
UWL Early Settlement Discount £500 (and a £700 tier) Full year's tuition balance paid by the stated date
UCA International early payment discount £1,000 Full tuition (after any scholarship) paid by or at CAS issuance
Plymouth Early full-payment discount £500 off the first year First-year tuition paid in full by Friday 4 September 2026
London Met International Bright Futures Scholarship £5,000 tuition fee reduction See London Met's scholarships pages for current eligibility
Arden Regional fee reduction 25% off all undergraduate programmes Students from selected regions — confirm Nepal is listed before relying on this

Keele, Bradford, Gloucestershire and Exeter all publish undergraduate scholarship schemes, but the pages we checked did not carry a specific figure. Check the institution's own page before budgeting around any of these four — see the sources list below.

What a bachelor's degree actually costs, before any scholarship

Scholarships are worth comparing against the fee they're reducing, not in isolation.

Institution Bachelor's fee (per year)
Bradford £16,100
UCB £16,500
Ulster £17,490
Huddersfield (Yorkshire or London campus) £17,600
UCA (2026/27) £18,000
Exeter (science/engineering) £31,200

A £5,000 Ulster scholarship against a £17,490 fee is a meaningful reduction. A £500 early-payment discount against a £31,200 Exeter fee barely moves the total. Run the actual fee and the actual award through the Master Reckoner before deciding where to apply — it matches course, cost and entry requirements in one place rather than leaving the family to compare scattered scholarship pages.

Living costs sit on top of tuition, and the visa sets the floor

A scholarship reduces the fee on the CAS. It does not touch the separate maintenance requirement the Home Office checks for the visa: £1,483 a month for a London course or £1,136 a month outside London, for up to 9 months regardless of how long the course actually runs. Over 9 months that is £13,347 for London or £10,224 outside it — on top of the tuition, not instead of it. On top of that sits the visa fee (£558) and the Immigration Health Surcharge (£1,035 per year), plus a TB test (£65) for Nepalese applicants on courses over 6 months. A scholarship letter is useful for the CAS; it does not change what the bank statement needs to show.

The two catches worth knowing before you apply

Most of the money is for paying early, not for grades. UWL's Early Settlement Discount, UCA's £1,000, Plymouth's £500 and Huddersfield London's £500 Early Payment Discount all require the family to pay the tuition balance or deposit ahead of a stated date. That is a cash-flow decision about when you can move money, not a reward for academic merit. If the family cannot pay early, these awards simply do not apply — regardless of grades.

"Published on the institution's page" is not a figure. Where Plymouth, Keele, Bradford, Gloucestershire or Exeter are shown with scholarships but no amount, that is because the official page advertises a scheme without a public number attached. Don't let an agent quote you a figure for these — ask them to show you the page.

One more regional caveat: Arden's 25% undergraduate fee reduction is offered under a regional scheme. Confirm in writing that Nepal is one of the listed regions before counting on it — the scheme name alone does not guarantee eligibility.

Where the entry requirement actually sits

A scholarship is worthless if the student doesn't meet the admission bar first. Ulster's Global Excellence Scholarship needs A-Level BBB or equivalent; its Standard Country Scholarship only needs the programme's normal entry requirement, which is a lower bar. Huddersfield London's top £4,000 band needs AAB-equivalent; its £2,000 band needs general entry requirements only. Check the entry grade the scholarship names, not just the headline amount — a £4,000 award tied to AAB is not available to a student who meets the course minimum but not that grade profile.

Common questions

Is there a scholarship that covers full tuition and living costs for a UK bachelor's degree?

Not among the institutions and schemes in this guide. The largest confirmed undergraduate award is Ulster's Global Excellence Scholarship at £5,000, which is a partial reduction against a tuition fee of £17,490 a year — not a full-funding package. Living costs, the visa fee and the health surcharge are separate from any of these scholarships and are not covered by them.

Which university offers the largest bachelor's scholarship here?

Ulster's Global Excellence Scholarship (£5,000) and Huddersfield London's top merit band (£4,000 per year of the course, for AAB-equivalent grades) are the two largest specific undergraduate figures in this data. UCB's Early Action Scholarship can reach £4,500 depending on the course. All three are reductions against the published tuition fee, not cash payments.

Will my +2 grades qualify me for one of these scholarships?

It depends on which scheme. Ulster's Standard Country Scholarship only requires meeting the programme's normal entry requirement, so most students who get an offer at all would qualify. Ulster's Global Excellence Scholarship and Huddersfield London's top band both require a higher grade profile — BBB and AAB UK A-Level equivalents respectively — so a student meeting the minimum entry bar alone would not reach these.

Do I need to pay a deposit early to get these discounts?

For several of the schemes, yes. UWL, UCA, Plymouth and Huddersfield London all tie a discount to paying the deposit or the full tuition balance by a stated date. These are not merit scholarships — a student with excellent grades gets nothing extra from them unless the family can also move the payment early. Check which category each award falls into before you plan around it.
