Arden Blended Undergraduate Top-Up (London) Fees — £13,000

Arden's blended undergraduate top-up in London is £13,000 for one year. Full fee table, maintenance figures and English entry rules for Nepali students.

The direct answer

Arden University's Blended — Undergraduate top-up (London) is £13,000 for a course lasting 1 yr, leading to a BA/BSc (Hons), with multiple intakes (arden.ac.uk). The same top-up delivered blended at Arden Manchester is £12,000, and the on-campus UK version of the undergraduate top-up is £16,000.

A top-up is the final year of a bachelor's degree. On the UK qualifications ladder it sits at RQF 6 and it "completes a degree from a diploma or HND" in 1 yr. So this fee buys one year, not three. If a student has a Nepali diploma or an HND and wants the Honours degree, this is the level they are looking at.

Arden fees in full

All figures below are Arden's published programme fees for the whole course, not per year, because each of these courses runs 1 yr.

Undergraduate top-up Blended — Manchester BA/BSc (Hons) 1 yr £12,000

Two things a counsellor should say out loud here. First, Arden is a private provider, not a ranked university — it is not in the Complete University Guide main table, because it is a private provider focused on blended and online delivery. Absence from the table is not a low score; it is a different category of institution. Second, Arden's study centres are London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds, plus Berlin, but the blended top-up fees published above are the London and Manchester ones. Do not assume the Birmingham or Leeds price without seeing it in writing on the offer.

What the £13,000 does not include

Tuition is one half of the budget. The Home Office maintenance requirement is separate, and the data note is blunt about it: maintenance is 9 months maximum regardless of course length, and it is in addition to the tuition on the CAS.

Item London Outside London
Maintenance (visa minimum) £1,483/month £1,136/month
Maintenance, up to 9 months £13,347 £10,224
Realistic monthly living cost £1,300 – £1,900/month Manchester £950 – £1,350/month
Rent, room or student hall £800 – £1,300/month Manchester £550 – £850/month
Student visa application fee £558 £558
Immigration Health Surcharge £1,035 per year £1,035 per year
TB test certificate £65 £65

The "realistic" and "rent" columns are estimates built from sector norms, not scraped official figures. They are there to stop a family budgeting to the visa floor and running short. In London, the note in our data is that the visa floor and the real cost are close — this is the one place where the Home Office figure is roughly honest. In Manchester there is more daylight between the two.

Add the tuition figure and the maintenance figure yourself. Do not let anyone quote you a single "all-in" number, because the two are checked separately and for different purposes.

London or not London is a Home Office definition

London versus non-London is tied to the institution's location, not to how urban a place feels. The gap is worth £347 a month on the maintenance requirement. Arden London is listed in our data under the London region alongside UWL, City St George's, St Mary's Twickenham, Huddersfield London and London Met. Confirm on the CAS which side of the line the named study centre falls on before the money is moved.

The 28-day rule is where Nepali applications fail

The maintenance amount must be held for 28 consecutive days, and the end of that period must be within 31 days of the visa application date. Our document notes call this the single most common refusal point. Sponsor money is fine, but if the funds are not in the student's own name you need relationship evidence, the sponsor's consent letter and the sponsor's bank statements — check whose name the account is in before submitting, not after.

Also on the checklist: the CAS itself (issued after the deposit, carrying the course, the fee and the amount already paid), NEB/+2 or bachelor's transcripts and certificates with official translation where needed, English language evidence, a TB test certificate from a UKVI-approved clinic for courses longer than 6 months, and a passport with sufficient remaining validity.

Entry requirements at Arden

Requirement What Arden publishes
Undergraduate English IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any element, or an equivalent Secure English Language Test (SELT)
IELTS variants IELTS Academic UKVI and non-UKVI both accepted at overall 6 with a minimum 5.5 in each band
Not accepted IELTS Online
Validity 2 years
Alternative 1 International GCSE English as a 2nd Language at grade B/5 — accepted only up to the IELTS 6.5 level, valid 5 years
Alternative 2 A degree-level qualification taught or researched in English that meets or exceeds a UK bachelor's, master's or doctorate
Arden's own test Arden runs its own English test, graded like IELTS, with results in a couple of days

The catch worth repeating: Arden says in writing that IELTS Online is not accepted. Huddersfield London and London Met say the same about online and Indicator tests. Students in Kathmandu and Pokhara routinely book the cheapest online sitting and then find the score cannot be used. Book the in-person Academic test.

On the academic side, a top-up requires the diploma or HND that the final year is topping up. Arden will assess what credit your existing qualification carries. Get that mapping confirmed in writing before paying a deposit, because the answer decides whether you are buying one year at £13,000 or a full degree.

The catch with blended delivery

Our provider note on Arden is short and should be read carefully: blended and online delivery across several UK study centres plus Berlin, cheapest fees in this list, check delivery mode against visa expectations. That sentence exists because a blended or online course is not the same product as an on-campus course, and families often assume the two carry identical arrangements. Ask Arden admissions to confirm, in writing, the delivery pattern of the specific top-up and what sponsorship it carries before you commit. Compare the answer against the £16,000 on-campus UK top-up price before deciding the £13,000 is the better deal.

How the London blended top-up compares on tuition

Option Fee Basis
Arden — Blended UG top-up, London £13,000 Whole course, 1 yr
Arden — Blended UG top-up, Manchester £12,000 Whole course, 1 yr
Arden — On-campus UK UG top-up £16,000 Whole course, 1 yr
UCA bachelor's £18,000 Per year, 2026/27
Bradford bachelor's, classroom-based £16,100 Per year
Huddersfield LONDON bachelor's £17,600 Per year
Ulster bachelor's £17,490 Per year

Read the basis column before you compare anything. The Arden figures are for a single top-up year. The others are annual fees on multi-year degrees. They are not like-for-like, and quoting them as if they were is how a family ends up shocked.

Common questions

How much money do I need in the bank for an Arden London course?

£1,483 per month for a London course, for each month of the course up to 9 months — £13,347. That is on top of the tuition fee shown on the CAS, which for the blended London undergraduate top-up is £13,000. The money must be held for 28 consecutive days, ending within 31 days of the application date.

Is the Arden top-up cheaper than a full bachelor's degree?

The top-up is a one-year course at £13,000 blended in London or £12,000 blended in Manchester, and it completes a degree you have already started elsewhere. A full bachelor's at the universities in our data is priced per year over three years. Whether it is cheaper depends entirely on how much credit your existing diploma or HND carries, so get the credit mapping in writing first.

Does Arden being outside the league table matter to employers?

Arden is a private provider focused on blended and online delivery, so it does not appear in a table of universities. Absence from the table is not a low score — it is a different category of institution. Say that plainly to parents rather than letting them assume the worst, and weigh it against the award, which is a BA/BSc (Hons).

How long can I work in the UK after finishing?

The Graduate Route length depends on the application date, not the course date: 2 years for a bachelor's or master's graduate applying on or before 31 December 2026, 18 months for anyone applying on or after 1 January 2027, and 3 years for doctorates. Part-time work during study is governed by the permitted hours set on your CAS — check the CAS rather than assuming. The National Living Wage is £12.71 an hour for those 21 and over from 1 April 2026, which helps with living costs but does not pay tuition.
