  • Years operating. A consultancy that has survived multiple visa-policy cycles has seen refusals and recovered from them.
  • Offices in Nepal. Matters if you are not in Kathmandu — a branch near you means in-person document checks.
  • Destinations served. A firm covering one country may know it deeply; one covering many can compare honestly when your first choice refuses.
  • Overseas offices. An office in the destination country means somebody is there after you land.
  • Institution partners. More partners means more options, but only if they are institutions you would actually attend.
  • Published fee position. Whether the company states its service fee publicly. Most do not.

Not compared: visa success rates. Almost every consultancy in Nepal advertises one, typically above 95%. None can be audited, none is published on a comparable basis, and a firm that only lodges strong files will always beat one that takes difficult cases. Repeating those numbers here would make them ours, so they are left out.

Not compared: reviews. Where a company publishes a rating we show it in its profile, but review counts are not comparable between firms and are easily influenced.

Before you sign with anyone

Ask for the ECAN membership code and the company registration, and ask for every fee in writing before you pay. Ask which institutions the firm is contracted to — a consultancy earns commission from the institution it places you with, so the shortlist you are offered is shaped by who it represents. That is normal and legal, and it is a reason to check the course against the destination’s own rules yourself.

Questions students ask

How do I check a consultancy in Nepal is legitimate?
Ask for its registration with the Company Registrar and its ECAN membership code, then ask for a written service agreement listing every fee before you pay anything. ECAN’s own member directory requires a login, so a membership claim is best confirmed by asking the office directly for its code.
Do consultancies in Nepal charge students a fee for UK applications?
Most are paid commission by the institution rather than by the student, and several advertise "no processing fee". Very few publish a service-fee schedule, so ask for the full cost in writing before signing, including test-preparation and documentation charges.
Does a bigger consultancy mean a better outcome?
Not by itself. A larger office network matters mainly if you live outside Kathmandu and want your documents checked in person. What decides a visa outcome is whether your course choice, funds and statement of purpose are right for the rules in force when you apply.
